Scuba Diving & Snorkeling

Seahorse Dive Shop provides daily diving, including single or multiple dives per day and night dives. The dives consist of wall, canyon, and faro (atoll shaped reefs inside the barrier reef) diving.

For the non-diver we offer snorkeling as either separate from or alongside the dive trips.

There are three different whale shark migrations each year in his section of Belize. There is a migration in March, April, and May when the sharks are observed at the Gladden Area by divers.

Seahorse Dive Shop

A fully equipped dive shop located in the heart of Placencia Village. The shop is owned and operated by PADI and NAUI dive instructor Brian Young. Brian has over 12 years of training experience and over 24 years of diving experience. He was one of Placencia first dive masters and instructors. Prior to opening his dive shop, Brian was a native fisherman and skin diver. He knows the reef as only someone who has made a living from the sea can.

Over the last three years the June month for Whale Shark diving that I had rule out is now proven very successful. So I would officially like the mentioning of the season to be March to June. Last couple years I had very little people in June because we did not mention it on the web page. New research is showing that we have Whale Sharks between the full and Last Quarter moon from March to October, with March to June as the best months 4 months and April and May as the best 2 months from the four. However since the word is out that April and May is the best 2 months these month are now over run by too much divers hence making the other months having better sightings especially June. We have changed our whale shark tours accordingly.
